Harmony Day was such a success with our community excursion that the children's interests have been extended by introducing foods from other countries and being able to make them. We visited the world of Italy with making yummy and healthy pizzas!
Toppings included a colourful array of veggies such as capsicum and mushroom and even the fruit pineapple. The base was full of calcium being made from natural yoghurt and flour!, Some fantastic creations were made! ... See MoreSee Less

Colour Mixing Experiment
After reading the book "Little Blue, Little Yellow", we showed our interests in colour mixing. Kinder teacher Angela invited us to do this fantastic experiment so that we could learn more about colour mixing.
At the beginning, we put water in each container and coloured them with water food colouring. After colouring the water, we needed to put oil on the top. We predicted that oil would float but some of us believed that oil would sink. It turned out that oil in fact floated because oil is lighter than water.
We then coloured the oil with oil food colouring instead of water food colouring because oil and water could not be mixed.
We could see that oil and water were separated with different colours. It was fascinating!
Our final step was to shake the containers and mixed the colours.
Through this experiment, we learnt that red, blue and yellow are primary colours. When red mixed with blue they turned purple. While yellow mixing up with blue turned green just like what we read on the book. When we mixed yellow and red they turned orange.
Angela told us that "purple, green and orange are secondary colours".
It was so much fun and we learnt sooooooo much! ... See MoreSee Less
